Made in Germany. Born and raised in a nice little town surrounded by lush green hills. Always on the ‘bright side of life’ – at least according to the common idea of “how a good life looks like“.

After finishing highschool I went straight to become a police officer. Working for the government. A save and well-respected job. Three years of training later I could proudly name myself ‘Officer’.

The years went by. Somehow slowly and blindly I was stumbling upwards the internal ‘career ladder’. I enjoyed what I was doing. Simply had a good time. Was smoothly strolling on the path of life. Everything went well. Too well?

Just hitting the age of 30, still being on the ‘bright side of life’, I thought it might be a good moment for an early midlife crisis. Or a late ‘finished-school-wanna-travel-desire’, I might have suppressed earlier in my life.

However you want to call it, there was something, which made me and my partner Lisa quit our jobs, leaving all the comfort of a stable and well-ordered life, monthly income a nice apartment in the greater Frankfurt am Main area, our family and friends behind and to hurl ourselves into the unknown instead.

Maybe it was just our gut feeling, but something told us to just ‘go’. No plan, idea or agenda.

A last Selfie on a chilly February morning in 2019 and off we went to the airport.

We thought, Australia would make a good place to start. Almost as far away as possible from home but still not to different and exotic to what we were used to.

That’s the time when my passion for photography became truly alive! Documenting our travels in the best possible way made me invest money and time in gear and self-education. A life-long and never ending journey in itself.

Fast forward – 3 ½ years later after leaving Germany we just made it to our second country - New Zealand. You see, we are not just rushing through, we take our time! ‘Slow travelling’ at its best.

Back then in 2019 we just left with a backpack each.

And now? Well, we are living in Motueka at the top of the South Island of New Zealand, residing in a nice little cottage, working on an organic farm, feeling integrated into the local community, having a campervan, a bicycle, a surfboard, heaps of other stuff, oh – and a BABY!

Yes, Lisa got pregnant on our travels and we were gifted with a beautiful little girl in December 2021 we named ‘Moata’. Other people bring magnets for the fridges of their family members from their travels, we will bring a ‘grand- and grand-grand-daughter’ for some, once back home. Life as it unfolds, ay…

But relatives in Germany have to wait for the newest family addition a wee bit longer. Because soon we gonna change to nomadism again and hitting the road ‘full time’ here in New Zealand once more. First time as a family.

Assisting ‘life’ to create new experiences and possibilities for us to wonder, learn and grow. And to put some new photographs onto this page of course.

I am truly thankful you are following along!
